AMERICAN INSURANCE invites you individually to join us and other Hometown Business Partners as we collect food this week (M-F Nov 18 – 22) for our local food banks in Lewiston, Clarkston and Moscow.
It’s easy to Partner with us! Bring a bag of non-perishable food to an American Insurance office or visit one of our Grocer Partners for discounted $15 pre-bagged food. You can leave your purchased donation bags at the store and we will pick it up and deliver it to our food banks.
INCREASED NEED: John Sullivan spoke with Steve Small at Community Action Food Bank on New 6th St in Lewiston. Steve let us know that our Hometown Food Drive is now their largest single drive and they are counting on us!
Brand new food bank clients for years prior had between 25 and 50 but when inflation hit the new averages doubled from 50 to 100 per month. More money going to rent has also pushed the uptick in numbers including a larger number of young families and elderly. Joanne Huntley, director of the Asotin County Food Bank in Clarkston and Jeremy VanHouten, VP of Palouse Cares in Moscow report similar increases in new food requests. With our help, they have been meeting those needs.
Together we make a big difference in reducing food insecurity in our communities. Thank you for caring and your generosity!
