Marking 20 Years at 55 Southway Ave

On April 15th, 2004 we opened our new Lewiston office building at 55 Southway Ave with a public Open House. It is hard to believe we just marked 20 years since opening this new location and welcomed in our loyal customers and friends.

After 77 years in the Carssow Building at 108-9th in downtown Lewiston (current home of Wells Fargo Bank), we moved into this new 4,000 sq ft brick building (main floor) with a 2,000 sq ft basement. The building is located at the roundabout intersection of Southway Ave and Snake River Ave, overlooking the beautiful Snake River.

The building is home to our Lewiston insurance operation with an agency staff of 17. We have another 4 staff members in our Moscow branch office. We represent dozens of America's top insurance companies and sell all lines of insurance including auto, home, farm, business, bonds, workers compensation, health and life insurance.

GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY:
The deal for the property was struck the year before in 2003 on a handshake with John (Buzz) Nanninga. Our local contractor was Kenaston Corporation and we broke ground during a ceremony in the summer of 2003 with our employees, families and friends looking on.

CONSTRUCTION: Construction began in the summer of 2003 and was completed by early spring 2004 using all local contractors and subcontractors for our work.  Below are pictures including excavation, foundation, first floor framing, roofing and completion.

GRAND OPENING: The Grand Opening Event was held on April 15, 2004 with a ribbon cutting ceremony provided by the Chamber of Commerce. The building was dedicated to Frank “Sully” Sullivan, retired president,  with a plaque presented by his son, John B. Sullivan, “in recognition of a lifetime of extraordinary service to his customers, his community, and his country”.  The 2004 American Insurance staff is pictured on the front steps of the new building.
